Make a Dotted Line in Figma
- Open Figma on your browser and sign in with your credentials. After you have successfully signed in, open the design file you’re working on from Recently viewed. If you haven’t started yet, click on the Create new file button.

- After the new or existing design is loaded, navigate to the toolbar and load the Line tool by selecting it from the Shape tools. Alternatively, you can load the line tool by pressing L.

- With the line tool loaded, hold Shift and drag the cursor over the canvas to draw a straight line.

- After the line is added to the canvas, the Design tab in the Properties panel on the right will update. Now, navigate to the Stroke section and click on Advanced stroke settings.

- Doing so opens a small extension featuring Advanced stroke settings. Now, select Dash in the dropdown associated with the Stroke style, and the line will turn to a dotted one.

- On changing to Dash, you’re presented with more options where Dash increases or decreases the distance between each dotted line. You can customize the ends of each dash by choosing either rounded or square edges using the Dash cap.
