If you’re trying to add Lottie animations to Figma, there isn’t a direct way. However, you can use the Lottie plugin to add them with ease. In this guide, we will help you add Lottie animations to Figma through a simple demonstration to get you covered.
Use Lottie in Figma
- Navigate to Figma and sign in with your credentials. Next, open the design file to which you want to add Lottie animations from Recently viewed.
- After the design file is loaded, navigate to the toolbar and click on Actions. Now, click on the Plugins & Widgets and then search for LottieFiles.
- Now click on the first result and then Run. If you can’t find the plugin, you can also search for the LottieFiles plugin in the Figma community.
- After the plugin is loaded, click on the Discover tab, use the search box to find the animation you want to add to the design and click on it.
- Now, you’re presented with two options where you can add the animation as a GIF or an SVG to the design.
- If you have added Lottie as a GIF, you cannot see it playing/looping unless you add it to the frame and create a prototype.
