Font Awesome allows you to search for and add icons in Figma. However, unlike other plugins, setting up the Font Awesome plugin involves a few more steps. In this guide, we will walk you through the entire process so you can add Font Awesome in Figma without hassle.
Use Font Awesome in Figma
- Open Font Awesome official website on your browser and create a new account. To complete the account creation, confirm your mail and fill in your details.

- After the account is created, click on the Profile icon at the top right corner.

- Doing so loads the General tab, and if you scroll to the bottom, the Tokens section can be found. Now, click on Create a New API Token to get started.

- From the box that appears, select Figma Plugin and click on Generate API Token.

- The API token takes time to generate, and once it has, you will notice the API updated under tokens. Next, click on Copy API Token to copy the generated API.

- Open Figma in a new tab and load the design file you’re working on. Next, navigate to the toolbar, open the Plugins tab, search for Font Awesome, and click on Run associated with it.

- If you do it right, the Font Awesome plugin loads. In the input box provided for API, paste the API token copied earlier from the Font Awesome website (Refer to Step 5).

- Upon entering the valid API Token, the plugin fetches the kits and updates the icons. Once the icons are updated, you can add them to the design and modify them without any restrictions.
