Frames in Figma are top-level containers for designs, enabling dynamic layouts through nesting. If you’re new to Figma and are trying to create a frame, the demonstration below featuring detailed steps will get you covered.
Create a Frame in Figma
- Open Figma on your browser and sign in with your credentials. Then, click on the New design file to get started.
- If you have a design file that you’re already working on, open it from the Recently viewed.
- After the new or existing design is loaded, navigate to the toolbar, find the Frame option, and click on it. In doing so, the Frame tool is loaded, and dragging the cursor over the canvas will create a custom frame.
Quick Tip: You can also load the Frame tool by clicking F and dragging the cursor to create a custom frame.
- Figma’s best feature is its presets and to access them, load Figma and navigate to the properties panel to find multiple frames categorized accordingly.
- When clicked on a preset from the list, it is added to the canvas, ready to work on without needing to be modified.
