- Open Character.AI in your browser and log in using your account details. Once logged in, find the character you’ve recently started the conversation with by selecting it from the left-side menu.
- Alternatively, you can explore characters on the homepage, browse by category, or use the search bar to quickly locate and start the conversation with any character of your choice.
- In the input box provided, add a single asterisk on either side of the message with no spaces – [*message*]. Refer to the image below for a better understanding.
- After you send the message, you will find the text is italicized successfully.
Italicize your Custom Character
You can also update the greeting or definition to make the custom character use italicized text to make conversations more engaging. Here are the steps to do this.
- Open your custom character, navigate to the top right corner, click on three horizontal dots, and then Edit.
- Now, edit the text in the greeting or definition by adding a single asterisk on either side of the message without spaces—[*message*].
- Once you’ve made your changes, click the Save and Chat button at the bottom right corner.
