If you have worked on a Figma file on a draft, it is important to move it to a project as it keeps your design files organized. Also, it lets individuals or teams manage and collaborate, which isn’t possible if you leave them as drafts.
Move Figma File From Draft to Project
- Open Figma on your browser and sign in with your credentials. The drafts you’re working on are in the Recently viewed section.

- Before proceeding, first, check if there is an active project. If there is none, create a new project.

- If you haven’t worked on the Figma file for a while, find the Drafts option and click on it.

- Now, find the file you want to move to the project and right-click on it. From the available options, click on Move file.

- Doing so opens the Move file modal. Select the project and click on the Move button.

- If you do it right, you will find the draft moved successfully to the selected project.

Wrapping Up
Congratulations on learning how to move the Figma file from draft to project!
If you’re on the free plan, a project can hold a maximum of four draft files. For this, you have to purchase a subscription. Both the Professional and Organization plans offer unlimited projects, so pick the one that fits your requirements.
