If you’re working on Figma, it is important to learn how to view history. This helps you keep track of changes made and also lets you restore older versions. In this guide, we will help you to see the history of a Figma file on both new and old interfaces to get you covered.
Before getting started: Open Figma on your browser and sign in with your credentials. Next, open the design file you’re working on from Recently viewed.

- After the existing design file is loaded, navigate to the top left corner and click on the downward-facing arrow next to the file name.

- From the available options, click on Show version history.

- Doing so, you will find the file history on the right. You can click on a version from the list to view it.

- To interact with the older version, click on the three horizontal dots next to it and select an option.

See Figma History on Old UI
There aren’t any significant changes compared to the newer version except for the placement of options. Here’s how to see the history of the design file on the Old UI.
- Navigate to the design file name in the center of the toolbar. Now, click on the downward-facing arrow next to the file name. From the available options, click on Show version history.

- The file history is on the right, and clicking on any version lets you view the version. To interact, click on the three horizontal dots next to it and select an option.
