If you’re new to Figma and are trying to use a pen tool, they can be used to create vector lines and complex shapes. In this guide, we’ll walk you through a simple demonstration to help you get started.
Using Pen Tool in Figma
- Open your browser, navigate to Figma, and sign in with your credentials. To get started, click on New design file. If you’re already working on a design file, open it from Recently viewed.
- After the new or existing design is loaded, navigate to the toolbar and click on Pen from the Creation tools. Alternatively, you can load the pen tool by pressing P.
- Once the Pen tool is loaded, draw the shape of your choice. While drawing, you can notice the anchor points created, as shown below.
- The anchor points can be interacted with by clicking and dragging, which changes the shape.
- You can also bend the shape using the Bend tool from the toolbar or by pressing Ctrl.
- If you want to add color to the shape, click on the Paint bucket or press B.
- Once you’ve made the changes, click on Done, and you will have a vector shape created successfully.
