If you’re new to Figma and are trying to use a pen tool, they can be used to create vector lines and complex shapes. In this guide, we’ll walk you through a simple demonstration to help you get started.

Using Pen Tool in Figma  

  1. Open your browser, navigate to Figma, and sign in with your credentials. To get started, click on New design file. If you’re already working on a design file, open it from Recently viewed.

  1. After the new or existing design is loaded, navigate to the toolbar and click on Pen from the Creation tools. Alternatively, you can load the pen tool by pressing P.

  1. Once the Pen tool is loaded, draw the shape of your choice. While drawing, you can notice the anchor points created, as shown below.

  1. The anchor points can be interacted with by clicking and dragging, which changes the shape.

  1. You can also bend the shape using the Bend tool from the toolbar or by pressing Ctrl.
